Odak Terms of Use

1. Who can use Odak

You must be at least 13 years old to use Odak. If you are under 18, you must obtain permission from your parent or legal guardian. Community features require you to sign in with your Google or Apple account; you are responsible for the security of your account.

2. License to use

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive and revocable license to use Odak for personal and non-commercial purposes. If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple's standard End User License Agreement also applies. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer or distribute the app's code, design, name or logo without permission.

3. Community rules: zero tolerance

The chat rooms in Odak are open to everyone; profiles are visible to other users and your study buddies. We apply zero tolerance to inappropriate content and malicious users. The following are prohibited:

• Harassment, threats, bullying, humiliation or targeting an individual or group
• Hate speech based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other characteristic
• Sexual, pornographic or nudity-containing content; any sexual content involving minors
• Heavy profanity, graphic violence or content that encourages self-harm
• Spam, advertising, promotion, link dumping or repeatedly sending the same message
• Sharing your own or others' personal information such as phone number or address
• Impersonating another person, the Odak team or moderators
• Using the study buddy feature to harass someone, collect personal information or carry the conversation outside the app to harass
• Encouraging illegal activities or infringing copyrights or others' rights
• Cheating in leaderboards, abusing the app or our servers, or accessing them with automated tools

These rules also apply to your name, username, about text, Instagram username and profile photo.

4. Chat and study buddies

• You must be signed in to read and write in chat. To write, you must also have focused for at least 25 minutes in the last 24 hours and accept the chat rules. You cannot write messages while a focus session is running; you can write during the break.
• Messages can be up to 500 characters. Sending messages too quickly and inappropriate expressions may be automatically blocked.
• There is no private messaging in Odak; messages written in a room are visible to everyone in that room.
• You can send a study buddy request to another user. If the request is accepted, you can each see the other's about text, Instagram username if added, daily focus statistics and achievements. You can end the friendship or the request at any time.
• To prevent abuse, the number of requests that can be sent in a day, the number of requests that can be sent to the same person within a week, and the number of study buddies are limited.

5. Reporting, blocking and moderation

• You can long-press on an inappropriate message to report it as spam, inappropriate content or harassment, and block the person who wrote it. You can report or block a profile from the menu in the top right of the profile. You will not see messages from people you block; if you have a study buddy relationship, it ends and you cannot send requests to each other; you can remove the block in the app under Settings > Blocked users.
• A message reported by three different users is automatically hidden until the review is completed.
• We review reports within 24 hours at the latest. We remove content that violates the rules; for profiles that violate the rules, we may delete the about text, Instagram username and photo and reset the name and username; we may permanently ban users who violate the rules from chat or close their accounts.
• In situations where a person's safety is at risk, we may share the necessary information with the authorities.

6. Your content

The messages you write and your profile information belong to you and you are responsible for them. By submitting this content, you grant us a limited to the provision of the service, worldwide, royalty-free and non-exclusive permission to store, display and transmit your content within Odak. This permission ends when you delete your content or account; report records may be kept as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Leaderboards and focus records

Leaderboards and statistics are calculated based on focus sessions verified by the app. We may delete or remove from leaderboards any records we detect as fraudulent. Leaderboards are for motivation purposes and do not promise any reward.

8. Paid features

The core features of Odak are free. If we offer paid subscriptions or in-app purchases in the future, they will be purchased through the App Store or Google Play. Payment, renewal, cancellation and refund are subject to the respective store's rules and are clearly stated on the purchase screen.

9. Account closure

You can delete your account at any time in the app via Profile > Settings > Delete my account. If you violate these Terms, we may suspend, ban from chat or close your account without prior notice.

10. Limitation of liability

Odak is provided “as is”; we do not guarantee that it will work without interruption or errors. We are not responsible for the content and behavior of other users, but we take the measures described in these Terms against violations reported to us. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the app. This section does not affect your rights arising from the consumer protection legislation of your country that cannot be limited by contract.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. For significant changes, we will notify you in the app. Continuing to use the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

The laws of the Republic of Turkey apply to these Terms. The mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence are reserved.
